Let me explain it, in my view,mixed version of mordernity and traditional thinking means, if you donot follow any tradition or western concepts mindlessly.If you think universally,logically and do scintific interpetation of things, understand what is right and wrong for you and society as society has some norms and we are a social animals.For example- even Ayurveda, yoga, ved, upnishad, Ramayan, mahabharata,Panchtantra...has its value if we take benificial things out of it or interpret things scintifically and weed out wrongs like supertitions bad traditions etc.., as some people say -apne suvidha ke mutabik sochna. But If I say it in one line, its a doha- SAR SAR GAHI KARE, THOTHA DE UDHAYE.
Our country is speacial because of its diversity, we all are so different from each other but united. It is a COMPOSITE society where we all belong to different states, different castes,different religion, different strata or financial background. We have different, eating habits, dress, traditions, language,thinking, climate, topographical situation, crops...so many things...still we are united and live with love, effection and respect. We always did as, history has proofs, so many civilizations created and destroyed, so man y dynasties invaded us, ruled us, tried to dystroy us,but finally get absorbed. Their impact is still on us as we are large hearted multiculutured society, which has seen ups and downs in so many years but survived and thrieving, as IQBAL rightly said, QUA BAT HAI KI HASTI MITATI NAHI HAMARI, SADIYON RAHA HAI DUSHMAN DAURE ZAMAN HAMARA. SARE JAHAN SE ACCHA HINDUSTAN HAMARA. We have lots of responsibilities on us as in history its we who shown paths to the whole world, whether as rulers or as spiritual dharm gurus...or in many other fields.
Recently Martin Luther king III has said, Its Mahatma Gandhi's Ideas and thinking which change America, so as Gautam Buddha, Mahavir, Vivekanand, or Sikh guru's has its influence, other than our mythological dieties or historical rulers. In contemporary India Nehru was pioneer of NAM, Panchsheel...contributions of our leaders of different fields are noticeble in world arena...So why is this that why we can not guide them at this difficult time of ECONOMIC RECESSION, TERRORISM, OR FEAR OF NUCLEAR WAR...POVERTY, UNEMPLOYMENT,PSUEDO COMMULISM FOR VESTED INTEREST...MISINTERPETATION OF DHARM..JIHAD AND KILLING IN NAME OF GOD OR SELF DEFENCE? (Though self defence is important after a point of of patience.)Environment problems are issue which is taken care of seriously, question is adaptability, or learning process from each other is always there, which is called GIVE-AND -TAKE, but can't we take initiative to guide them? Umeed ki kiran Bharat se kyon nahin nikal rahi?
I define Dharm as a kartavya for and aastha in any thing. If you believe in a stone and start doing seva as vaishnav's do to krishna's murti,you start feeling the emotions for that piece of stone or murti, which we describe as a pranpratishtha...this is what make as Insaan instead of robot. Only this Aastha, Prem,Karuna,sneh bhav..can make world free from hatred, jealously, bloodbath...
For last few days I was reading about plans to create regulatory authority and make code of conduct for Media, which includes internet as well. Few rules and regulations already exists so as press guild, may be they need to be updated. I think self imposed discipline or laxman rekha is the best, as journalists are very responsible people, but at times strictness is also important as mediapower can be misused or mediaperson can get corrupt.
I am really impressed by Pakistani mediaperson Hamid mir's courage and spirit. What Zeo TV has done by defying own government and exposing Kasab's links in Pakistan, as well as link's of 26/11 in Taliban after his brave fellow journalist's assasination. I was listening to his press conference telecast. That should be the spirit...Hat's off to him...Very good example..one should be cautious in such circumstances as life is important, otherwise how will one fight...but, that should be the spirit...to fight against terror.
We all will pray for the success of Pakistan's and all Islamic countries freedom struggle against Terrorism(all of them are not misguided,their efforts are genuine), Fundamentalist's who do not consider themself Insaan or Khuda ke Bande but just a 'Musaalman'...who are spreading fear and terrorism in the name of Jihaad..doing misinterpetation of their Religion and killing innocent Insaans who all are also musalmans and calling it a mission...Inshallah! they should understand what humanity is.
Today is the great day for us and Indian cinema, We won 3OSCARS for SLUMDOG and 1 for SMILE PINKI. I am very happy for Whole team of both films and speacially for A.R.Rahman.Today Sudhirji made a great cartoon potraying a kid of film giving trophy to SONIAji and MANMOHAN SINGHji..and saying, it goes to you as you made our country a slum in last 60 yrs. Good satire...and a very disturbing fact.
I am feeling bit nostalgic today,as Sudhirji's B'day is on the 26th. He'll be 49 yrs old.Jub we met, he was 24(in dec 1984).We got married on 24th Nov,'86 and chinu was born on 10th sept,'87.We both belong to traditional families trying to change with time. With Sudhirji its not just a 'safarnama' of husband-wife, family person, but a wife of a celebrated cartoonist as well. I was a professional journalist, and still by nature a journalist, freelancing occasionally.
Being his wife is an interesting and difficult job, you need to be updated in News, if not indepth, but in basics, as you won't be able to understand if you don't know the news it potraying.He makes Political Cartoons but, it covers all the leading and newsy issues, wether political(which is also social),social, economical,sports,entertaintment,environmental,national, international....coated with political line.So you need to be all rounder to smile on and feel the crux, the satire and the irony it dipicts.Its like an editorial in a frame, with one liner.Its like a Charlie Chapplin's Film which makes you laugh as well as sad at a time.
So you need to be sensitive enough to understand it, and should have sense of humour as well to appreciate it.
One need to understand the pain and suffering of a leading cartoonist who consistently for last 27 yrs(officially) and for last 39 yrs (unofficially)...busy in creation.At times he feel stagnated,he is on the Plateau from where he wants to go up and up so that more and more people can hear his voice..his issues..his protest and his suggestions...for which he is struggling for last 27 yrs...to make the difference...this what his mission is. For this he has to deliver 6 days a week and read books, magazines, litreature, search in internet and watch television..to be update and to be the latest.
Cartooning is a unique profession- combination of a well educated person who has allround knowledge of issues to depict, language to attack,artist to potray in a small frame and have a sense of humour, sense of proportion,vision to see between the lines and future as well.Its his understanding,presentation and packaging of News which makes his cartoons unique..as News is the same for every newsperson. I like his thinking and conviction with which he makes the Cartoon. Every day he has to deliver a baby...At times I don't agree with his perspective or point of view...but I have all praise for him and I am Proud of him...I love you Sudhir...Keep going on.
So, finally countdown begin's for 15th loksabha election,as for last one year people were expecting- fall of the government, and it almost happened at the time of Nuclear Deal...preparations started for next elections from then only...assembly elections in few states were the unit test, now finale exams begin...media is abuzz with imformations and details of former elections and forth coming election survey's...speculations and predictions are on as who will go with which party...pro-election alliance's and who will emerge as a winner. Which party will form government, with whom will they alliance post elections...Few parties are following Barack.H.Obama style campainging..on line as well, which is not wrong as in urban areas people do intract on line...but it is just an option as most of the India either do not have time or electricity or computer or have language problem or they are not interested in electroral system. Young people should be shaken up and motivated enough to have faith in constitution and participate in electoral process.They only can convince their family members and friends to come out and vote...vote to right person...as the leaders we will choose and elect will govern us...so blaming them for each and every wrong thing will take us no where unless we don't vote.
One should do all the research work about the candidate they are going to vote, as party and its ideaologies and agenda or manifestoes do matter...but the person we are going to choose should be most important factor as he or she can make the difference in taking decisions in centre and devoloping his constitueinces as well...
One should try to choose a person who is dynamic enough to represent your areas problems and needs as well as can add new dimensions to whatever responsibilities he/she get..who is dutiful,not a fuedual master who behaves undemocratically.Who has vision to solve Indian problems in Indian way but understand international thinking and problems as well as he/she is going to be National leader.Who can understand the political-socio-economic nuances...by reading or with experience..but has capability of foresee problems and can suggest solutions as well can lead in delivering it as in the parliament every one's voice get heard and every one's vote counts. It should not be like..we don't know what is nuclear deal is or economic recession is...Its J and K problem, or its south or bihar- orrissa problem...one should think as Indian first.
One should vote for a candidate who has minimum charges on him/her.
For PM post as know I think--L.K.Advani is the first choice as he is less dented..he has changed with times or say modified..He was the main pillar in Vajpayeeji government...though they had differences...but they resolved it and worked together sucessfully for 6 yrs 1 month. When they were in power things were evaluting, no body believed coliation government can work as it was 'Kahin ka itt, Kahin ka Rorra, Bhanumati ne kunba joda'..specially with BJP (which were supposed to be untouchables-but now I believe, people understand that it thinking of RAM based on HUMANITY is more important for us than RAMMANDIR,and if ever it get made..it will be with consensus than with fight as Rama belived in spreading love and harmony. He'll be happier as roadside stone instead of living in Bhavya mandir made after fighting ) other parties with different idealogies joined hand and worked for country was good to see. That process continue with UPA government as path was shown to them by Atalji led Government, But here also people had disagreement,but then they prefer country over selfishness and noe after five years, we are going to elect a government which has done better work for us. As opposition leader as well he has done good job except few differences within the party demorlised him but he overcome it as he understand that to govern India from front one need to be more flexible. He several times accepted his mistakes in judgement or decisions which shows he is an honest man.
My second choice is Mr.Pranav Mukherjee, a trouble shooter in UPA and man with many posts...I find him honest, intelligent and man with experience who is capable of handling any situation,but anti incombency factor may block UPA's/his way to become PM,as well as few other factor which stopped him to be PM last time as well. Nitish Kumar is another honest man who has vision and determination to change misfortune of bihar...he has been good natnational leader as well...can be good candidate...Rahul Gandhi is good, energetic,but not yet tested...
Today attack on the Sri Lankan Team in the Lahore is really shocking and disturbing gory act...nobody in the world can appreciate that.These criminals need cannot finish off sports love by these kind of act...they just need publicity...and destroying games in pakistan by creating these kind of situation...But now Pakistan should not behave like a helpless government...where these fundamentalists can terrorise people in the name of god and nobody can stop them...they are brain washing young boys...If Pakistan is unable to control them, then they accept it so that other agencies take over charge and control them as situation is getting grimmer...India cannot sitback and just do nothing if terrorist activities increases in border areas and it start showing regular impact on Indian Life...As IPL matches are coming..Commonwealth games and World Cup Cricket matches...also we are hosting...and want to host Olympics as well...Would not want anything like Munickh Olympics happen here...Why special occasion, we don't want these kind of Terrorist activities here...as now every body know which Sangthan has hands in it...and where are they have there roots and are thrieving...I don't they have any goals except showing there importance and power by terrorising people and different governments.
I am glad today as aditi's work- 24 photo's and mini ad campaign is selected for her college annual exhibhition, its shows improvement in her work, as last year her fewer work was exhibhited. Her college festival is also scheduled for next week, though she is not participating directly in anything...for last two years she has participated and organized Fashion Show, with mix of very relevant causes and litrary touch as a theme.
I am watching her group for many years, they truly represent new generation who are going to vote for first time for Lok sabha elections(10 crore in no.s)and (two third of our total population is young and below 35.)
Aditi is intelligent girl...creative,sensible, sensitive and aware. Its reflects in her work...She love to capture beauty of nature, life in detail-which is traditional,trendy and mordern,..which shows prosperity and progress as well as uglyness and poverty...but there is emotion,life and hope in every photo's and sketeches...I like her photo of a begger girl of hydrabad who looks so beautiful and sane..at peace, when she offered chips and cold drink by her...she was most beautiful..seeing urban and rural areas...streets and big hotels from her camera's eye...from Delhi's chandni chowk's to haridwar, Rishikesh, masoorie, Dharamsala,Pilani,jodhpur,jaisalmer,daman,goa,hampi,hydrabad...and so on..Its her begining...Computer can enhance the quality in photoshop and corel draw but cannot put emotion...you can feel this from their eyes...who reacts, rejects,rebel positively as they need to get convineced then swallow..for them left,right,straight,gay,black,white,rich,poor,all are same.There is no bar or barrier against religion, caste,tribe or region. They look equally good and comfortable in western clothes as well Indian,including saree...doesn't expose unduly as she know her physical limitation as well as social limitation..she respect tradition, elders but has head over shoulders,mature enough to not follow them blindly and respect her individuality...she like food from everywhere...but-- lacks in experience and maturity which comes with time,quite busy learning, have to learn many more thing in life...which can make her life more comfortable and beautiful...we are hopeful..
Saw Sudhirji's programme on India T.V. Its a first kind of reality show on politics.Sudirji is a one of the judge...programme is from 6.30 to 7.pm daily till elections...'voter ka meter'...but need more gravity...should be given more time to judges to speak more on topics than just giving numbers...Like watching
For last few days there is so many blasts in Pakistan including 3 in Peshaver today...How can anybody compare Pakistan's situation with India's...India is much more safer country than Pakistan,Srilanka,Bangladesh..After mumbai blast..England cricket team came to India and were safe...Its good to be careful and cautious...from neighbourhood unrest and internal terrorists groups,underworld organized crime, Naxalism as most of groups need publicity out of it that see we are here, you cannot do anything...or may be by kidnapping can get some terrorist free..I don't see they have any concrete agenda or mission or Lakshya.
Why people and official are creating so hulla over IPL safety and election's simulteniously? Media was discussing few days back that Politicians are worried as IPL may overshadow election in media coverage and voters as Indians are more interested in cricket, entertainment than Elections...Now politician got the chance to postpone IPL..but IPL may get setback and lose money and dates of players as they all are busy with national games as well.
I saw Nitish Kumar roaming around or going to watch film riding rickshaw...shows even CM is feeling safe in the state where crime rate is high...quite assuring and motivating...Bunty has joined Infosys-Mysore on 2nd of this month...its a new chapter in his life...came to know that in the campus all members move to class or hostel or mess by bicycle provided by office as it is more than walking distance.Good initiative to save petrol and environment..and its cheap and safe as well...Aditi went for college educational trip last month and previous 2 years as well and they travelled in a small group as well as in bigger group by train,bus,car-jeep,rickshaw,scooty or bicycle...she found gujrat very safe...It shows our country is not that unsafe for boys or girls in any time-day or night-though they avoided travelling in the night generally...I found Nepal also quite similar to India...
Aditi- like wearing all the colours, it reflects in her work also,though quite often she uses black and white,cipia effect and ...manual work.. in the photography. Quite a Papa's daughter in creativity.
It's good that our country men realized that they won't let Gandhiji's artefacts sold...and some effort is being done...good wishes. At least we respect Gandhiji in someway...otherwise we have forgotten the 2 basic things on which his philosphy is based, which are- always speak the truth,and non-violence.

Do they are not considered 'intellectual enough to be invited as listeners, forget as a speaker...may be they are not that BIG STARs or may be they are artist cum journalist...in panel disscussions as well I hardly see cartoonists of leading Newspapers disscussing or giving expert comments on Political scenerio...I have met quite a few of them in Nepal(south asian)..and otherwise as well,did research on their profile for TV programme...even Sudhirji's profile done by many channels and magazine in so many...he has done reporting, interviews as well,he has anchored and produced programmes successfully,which has been awarded bt DD...but the fact remain the same...they all speak well...they do understand the pulse of aam people...they are admired and followed by readers...then why not considered as an artist by LALIT KALA ACADEMY as Art College's do teach Cartooning as a Topic but not as a subject...even in mass com college they teach cartooning as a topic but not as a subject...where as in europian, american and other western countries treat them as intellectuals and there they are millionaires as well...
I think CARTOONIST's are very serios people, a thinker, who are loner's at the time of work(8hours)-all the artist's are-even my daughter is like this. They are sechluded -as well very observent as they need to observe and understand life and features of people to potray them.so usually they mingeled and jel easily with others.
I find cartoonists a good journalist as well...though this combination is rare, that's why there are very few good Cartoonists.Its a 'offbeat'profession...people at times think they are cynical or humours(jokers) or negative person who kills you with his satire...but the fact is, in the normal life they are as normal as any body...
Its sad BJD and BJP are no longer together...Their such a long friendship gone through rough patch is sad...but the reality is everything is fair in love and war and elections...

Who is the best person to Lead our Nation- Do we have another Nehru, Indira, Atal Bihari Vajpayee...on who's name people can vote and party can win? Do we have faith in one man vision and capability to lead India...for betterment? Does Advaniji, Manmohan Singhji, Mayawatiji or Rahul Gandhi fulfill this Criteria--and has that leadership quality?

Its SAD but fact that to win election-- parties need to fulfill CASTE, COMMUNAL,and (hopefully)WOMEN's interests best as these are the factors which also counts. Our society has structured like this that we have assimilation of all this and for years now(60),Politicians should wipe the division of lower-upper caste,different religions as our Constitution do not differentiate between them,and gave solution for their upliftment to be equals...and please do not consider Hindus as communal just becoz they are in majority...as even they are 'Garib and Pidit'...facing all kind of problems...so,parameter should be to wipe out 'class divide' and one should try to dissolve other social ugliness..attach to caste,class ,religion,gender and do their makeovers... these problems should be 'diverted' to social sector to take initiative with the help of masses and other machineries...Govt. or Private, National...International...

It applies on the News, TV serials and advertisement,video games on the internet as well...as what you watch it influence you more conciously or subconciously, and if it is repeatedly shown(as in different places or cities, people watch it on different time),it makes the difference, in a good or a bad way..(as its our psychology that kids or young one learn bad thing quickly, it attracts them more, wether its abusive language or guns as a toys)...that's how one become recognisible and famous a bit easily either....
Showing Mythological stories or Historical stories,Pralay.. Ghost and Aatma--Sachi kathayein--Horror stories, with special effects...which does not exists, or is Hypothetical...with own interpetation is sad...as its no. is not few but in abundence...people do watch it as its TRP is high...its not good, as viewer do believe them, they don't watch them for sheer entertainment or timepass...that's wrong...otherwise these things always existed and its everywhere in the world....so its viewers need to be educated...and to some extent producers as well.

UPA's period was good or bad, that can be judged by their achievements, governess and future policy...whether they carry on NDA's policy, which is not wrong ethically as one govern for country's betterment and things do evolved...or its there own policies...where are we heading towards in this period --minus allies--where congress stands...as in 2004 they won by small margin...Do voters take this risk to give them chance to form a majority government....Are they fit for it and can do justice with given responsibilities?

After 13days BJP+Akali Dal came to satta for 13months with the help of 24parties of different ideaologies and menifestoes and agenda...lost vote of confidence by 'single' vote, thanks to mayavatiji who abstained after saying Yes...in 1999 election their agenda and slogan was 3 B's...but in 2004 it changed to 'India Shining'.
I saw latest Interview of Advaniji in English Outlook...admitting why they lost 2004 election and how India Shining slogan went against them...he blamed over confidence of their Karyakartas which converted in negligence and inactivity...
In defence of Mordern Laohpurush I can only say that Advaniji was the main pillar behind Atalji Face and mind..he had tough time as a Home minister and Dy PM handling terrorism as till 11/9/2001 it was evolving and USA did not recognise it as a international issue...and afterwards they were busy combating it in own country and finally attacking Iraq...

We went to Bihar together in 1995..when my father got retired and Alok was getting married(Now they live in Faridabad or Chaandigarh..with my brothers...Bhaiya usually get transfered to different corner of India including North East) ...after that once Sudhirji went to Patna in official visit...met Laluji and Rabriji...once I went alone to meet Parents in Bhagalpur...then with my mother I visited Begusarai...and my sister munni in Madhubani, went to Janakpur...She is now in Patna.

Aditi's fashion statement is Khadi and cotton...for last many years...though see bought 2 silk kurta's from Dharmashala last year...in fact its a local dress.. Besides family sanskar...she do had influence of Sahmat group...muslim centric communist group...she was with JANM and their daughter Saara is her SP school friend...Now she is not with them...as college needs more attention...
She do have Christian school time Friends...or Chinese Friend Linda with whom she worked for college festival...designed clothes in house...in 1st year their theme was GOLIATH, a bible character...in 2nd yr it was PYCADALICS...they represented college at IIT festival...BITs Pilani...and at NID Ahmadabad festival in last few yrs...
I am sad I couldn't attend her college festival as we got late due to Sudhirji's vyastata...I should have gone there alone as her Ad Campaign, photo's and other works was exhibhited so as others...would have nice oppertunity to see sculpture..paintings...ad campaingns and photo's...I have met few of her girls...and boys college friend and I don't think...they are 'bigada' hua...in fact they are more serious as well creative...
Ambience of Delhi College of Art is very good though they do get irritated by their admnistration's sarkari unprofessional slow attitude...or lecturers inner politics..which do not provide them basic important facilities...or influence their studies or performance...

My Roommates friend told them that it is my friends my as well...so she was invited to cut the cake with Sandip..everybodies photos got clicked...she shook hands with them...talked to them and came back...So..after that it was we who were Pidit people listening these stories repeatedly for 15 days...without getting drunk...she was Hi...she refuses to wash her hand as she shook hand with them...we made jokes about her...were making fun of her..she never bothered about it...she was in some other world...Thank god, that time Blogging was not invented...varna hamara kya hota...

Aditi and Sudhirji went to see Pooja Nayyer's show this evening...it reminds me of my khadi talk...actually few days back I saw an interview of a girl...who is doing character of 'Ichcha' in 'Utran' serial...potraying maid servants daughter role...she was saying..I always wear cotton clothes in serial as I am poor...this is what I saw in many more serials...I don't watch serials regularly, as regressive serials do tell you few reallities of society, potray..certain issues nicely, as 'Balika Vadhu' is potraying...but it gives tension...you cannot feel relaxed after watching it ...it makes you think about certain basic problems in our society...which hurts...and should get elminated or eradicated from the roots...
So, I just wanted to say...even poor are wearing fabrics other than cotton as they get second hand good quality clothes from house they work or from open baazar where clothes are in sale in 'thok' and are cheap...
Cotton or Khadi is comfortable to wear as its good for skin...it absorbs Pasina, its eco friendly...its peoples choice and Fashion Statement or style for few...though tough to maintain...and not always cheap...so one should not make this opinion or statement that only poor wear Khadi or cotton...though it doesn't matter...we do have poor in our country and Gandhiji started wearing it as poor men attire- 'Jab tak sab ke tan thakne ko kapde na honge mein ise vastra dharan karoonga'...it shows we understand their Pida...but we have progressed.

When I was in school, we used to do 'surya-namaskar'as a PT curriculam in Kendriya Vidyalaya, no one ever said its communal(we had students of all religions)...and I don't think I am communal, but few years back it become 'communal'in MP.Why???
When Aditi was in Apeejay school till 10th std...they used to chant 'gayatri mantra'...everyone studied sanskrit in school, they had 'yagya kund'...they celebrated every other 'thuohar' together in school which means thousands of them...I can speak about her, she is not communal...
She has been to many church, mandir, golden temple, jama masjid...in Sardar Patel School (11th-12th), Which is a Gujrati school...She always won certificates for Rangoli making...or every year she participated in Navratri 'Garba' with others in school...in Gujrati Traditional dress and with dandiya...she still go there annually,in Navratri...as invited by school(invitation for all passouts)...does that make her communal or regressive???
Once a Sudhirji's German Friend talking to her few yrs back, asked her about Akshardham Temple...She replied, its beautiful but one should do some meaningful use of land...which means, it should include real charitable work...He said, even in his country youth are less attached to Church, one should add some new dimensions to involve youth with them???Does that make her communal or Non-Believer???
As a student of Political science, Socialogy, History, English and Psychology in 11-12th(I don't Know how much she remember her course now)... they have done many case studies...group discussions...with themslve, teachers, Guest experts, prepared own Agenda and Menifesto's for school elections, as electing class rep in quite democratic process, was interesting...was member of Neighbourhood project in school activities...did social work...does that make her politically aware or a politician???
I am not saying I or Sudhirji has nor done these things...but these first time voters are smarter...we expect that they should not disrespect religion...but respect...what is socially wrong...be balanced, and unbiased...and discard wrong candidates not parties (as all of them are more or less same), who donot believe in our Constitution...who treates every citizens equally...We need leaders who make members of every caste and religions feel safe and secure and not do vote bank politics...
I think when Varun Gandhi saw that every parties in UP are wooing different castes(read social engeenering)and Muslim voter bank is divided in different parties...he played hindu card to polarised them in his side...this is called Sam, Dam, Dand,Bhed....one cannot change society by speaking in language which is vicious...and full of hatred...he may win votes but it will defeat his purpose of doing something constructive to Society...every young one should think before act....with some positive talk with same voters....he could have won more heart...and got publicity as well...it applies to other also...
There is never ending examples- why some topics in our course become communal, or leftists or secular...its perception of few people who are sitting and deciding, but at the time of election its junta who should decide???

Earlier I was talking about few questions asked to me... I was discussing (it happened)soft issues with them, that really matter in life...so nothing is non-serious if discussed sincerely...I am not saying all of them lost Focus or have too many girls or boys in life...these things are personal...being popular or discussing gossips,(fake...baseless or real..or just to get importance as an ordinary person or a big star...mujh per itne marte hain..)...not make them fool...but at times wrong impressions can also create problems....media should also cross check before highlighting them as some gossips are created purposefully???
Yesterday our 70 yrs old uncle aunties came for dinner and said we are not old--abhi to hum jawan hain...they(uncles were college mates) told us few gossips about their crush on one of beautiful classmate...they have written poems on her and still watch Aishwarya's films becoz she resembles her...aunties were sitting and laughing....If my any young family member talk about many boy or other girl and their (close friends)that does not everything is bad and ugly between them....but one need elders guidence to beware!!!
Different people have different opinions...one of my relative was against ads on sex education...isse bachche log qua sikhenge?? But if some problem exists from Kunti's time...bachche log need to be educated in right time so that they don't do wrong...galat fayda to koyi utha sakta hai,these are sensitive issues..that does not mean you stop teaching...Yes, ad shouldn't be vulgar...it should be sensible and catchy...so that it gives right message...
I saw 'Jane tu, Ya jane na'(recently on TV)...Nice friendly parents also adviceses their kids about their close friendships(which is not romantic)...with other school or college friends, can create problems in the future...as jealousy or Shaak(may be momentry) are very common bemari...
Once I told my daughter that what(some english serial)...you are watching is not our Sanskriti, as a film made on same subject...with Indian outlook and western outlook is different as directors think according to their society and market...
for examble, 'Phir bhi Dil hai hindustani's expose'of politician is different from...'Strip Tease' or presentation of 'Titanic' is different from many such films based on these stories in India(bollywood)...Its better not to get wronglly influenced by them...
Talking about Indian Traditions,Heritage,religion or sanskriti is not regressive...regressive is being regid about wrong traditions like...against Bal vidhva vivah,girl litreacy....love marriage... supporter of child marriages...and so on...
Masala Films like 'Julie' or 'Kya Kahana'...are educative, Ads of contraceptives or on Aids...need to be shown sensibly...ads of Kamsutra or Aam sutra...people find them objectionable....Personally...I have module on Adolecent childs problem...I attended a workshop on this topic...and occassionally try to talked to Aditi and her girls and boys...classmates...I don't know how much I am successful in conveying my message positively...(I see I have missed few words in the matter written earlier...witch make the sound ulta)
Talking about Sam,Dam, Denda,Bheda in Politics can not make Politicians Aadarsh or role model...one need to set good example..by showing others path...I pray they should not do only Hindu or Muslim or caste talks...but talk about real agenda of all round development, security,other progress related issues.

It was in to part...in first half..shararti kids are given all important responsibility...that make them realised importance of discipline and rules and regulations of the school...
In the IInd half...They have to talk about their ambitions and what they want to be...A Fairy was helping them realised their dream come true...It was symbolic...Its once concience...that help's and guide...They Performed it in Kamayani Auditorium...
Their was one more play,I remember was they performed in Apeejay School was 'Aaj ka Abhimanyu'...Where a mythological Abhimanyu helping a boy 'Manav'...to realised his dreams...as he was stressed due to 'bojh' of heavy course...her own ambition to do well in all subjects...and activites...to get name, fame, money...subkuch but on the way of his sucess he lost his near one Kahin Pichae-His friends and families...and he was told by Abhimanyu.. to break last barrier(which he couldn't) and take other members along with you...and live balanced life-not isolated...This is what I meant by 'Complete man/woman'...not litrelly but yes.

I hope by watching life of a young girl from her eyes and her and my mind, I am not creating any wrong impression about my daughter...As I know one thing ...Trying to be dada doesn't make her dada as she is a shy,simple girl...who does not get influenced by others easily...for example, her cotton khadi prem...she bought khadi silk from dharamshala...but she went to many (celebrities)marriages, wearing my cotton saree(though its beautiful)...or(once)for Her bua's family function(some Sagai)wearing Khadi suit...In fact her bua told her that every one is wearing heavy clothes, so why not she?... But she is like this...
Though even I prefer wearing Pestal colours which many says--looks Artistic...One of my favourite is khadi silk Madhubani Print saree, every one in my family likes it...

Yesterday Sudhirji's book launch was a big hit...in every aspects...good crowd, great media presence...good and witty speeches by Shri Amar Singhji,Shri Shatrughan Sinhaji, and Sudhirji. I am proud of this fact that everyone I have met has praise for him, his nature and his impartial work...I remember when someone in Nepal praised him, saying 'I am sure a day will come when people will say...he was born in India...well,that time will say...but I do believe he is a very good human being, a controlled person and constantly trying to overcome worldly emotions(eg;ego and jealously..) which occasionally make a person Ravan from Ram.
His first edition is sold within 2 days. Its sad Shri Manmohan singhji refused to release his book as told to us that he will feel awkward and embarassed to see his own cartoons...PM sir 'Nindak Neyare Rakhiye'...Even Akbar had Birbal in his team of Navratna'.He should have sense of humour...to face the reality or a persons point of view.

ReplyDeleteLet me explain it, in my view,mixed version of mordernity and traditional thinking means, if you donot follow any tradition or western concepts mindlessly.If you think universally,logically and do scintific interpetation of things, understand what is right and wrong for you and society as society has some norms and we are a social animals.For example- even Ayurveda, yoga, ved, upnishad, Ramayan, mahabharata,Panchtantra...has its value if we take benificial things out of it or interpret things scintifically and weed out wrongs like supertitions bad traditions etc.., as some people say -apne suvidha ke mutabik sochna. But If I say it in one line, its a doha- SAR SAR GAHI KARE, THOTHA DE UDHAYE.

If you believe in a stone and start doing seva as vaishnav's do to krishna's murti,you start feeling the emotions for that piece of stone or murti, which we describe as a pranpratishtha...this is what make as Insaan instead of robot. Only this Aastha, Prem,Karuna,sneh bhav..can make world free from hatred, jealously, bloodbath...
ReplyDeleteFor last few days I was reading about plans to create regulatory authority and make code of conduct for Media, which includes internet as well. Few rules and regulations already exists so as press guild, may be they need to be updated. I think self imposed discipline or laxman rekha is the best, as journalists are very responsible people, but at times strictness is also important as mediapower can be misused or mediaperson can get corrupt.

What Zeo TV has done by defying own government and exposing Kasab's links in Pakistan, as well as link's of 26/11 in Taliban after his brave fellow journalist's assasination. I was listening to his press conference telecast. That should be the spirit...Hat's off to him...Very good example..one should be cautious in such circumstances as life is important, otherwise how will one fight...but, that should be the spirit...to fight against terror.

ReplyDeleteI am feeling bit nostalgic today,as Sudhirji's B'day is on the 26th. He'll be 49 yrs old.Jub we met, he was 24(in dec 1984).We got married on 24th Nov,'86 and chinu was born on 10th sept,'87.We both belong to traditional families trying to change with time. With Sudhirji its not just a 'safarnama' of husband-wife, family person, but a wife of a celebrated cartoonist as well. I was a professional journalist, and still by nature a journalist, freelancing occasionally.
ReplyDeleteBeing his wife is an interesting and difficult job, you need to be updated in News, if not indepth, but in basics, as you won't be able to understand if you don't know the news it potraying.He makes Political Cartoons but, it covers all the leading and newsy issues, wether political(which is also social),social, economical,sports,entertaintment,environmental,national, international....coated with political line.So you need to be all rounder to smile on and feel the crux, the satire and the irony it dipicts.Its like an editorial in a frame, with one liner.Its like a Charlie Chapplin's Film which makes you laugh as well as sad at a time.
So you need to be sensitive enough to understand it, and should have sense of humour as well to appreciate it.
One need to understand the pain and suffering of a leading cartoonist who consistently for last 27 yrs(officially) and for last 39 yrs (unofficially)...busy in creation.At times he feel stagnated,he is on the Plateau from where he wants to go up and up so that more and more people can hear his voice..his issues..his protest and his suggestions...for which he is struggling for last 27 yrs...to make the difference...this what his mission is. For this he has to deliver 6 days a week and read books, magazines, litreature, search in internet and watch television..to be update and to be the latest.
Cartooning is a unique profession- combination of a well educated person who has allround knowledge of issues to depict, language to attack,artist to potray in a small frame and have a sense of humour, sense of proportion,vision to see between the lines and future as well.Its his understanding,presentation and packaging of News which makes his cartoons unique..as News is the same for every newsperson. I like his thinking and conviction with which he makes the Cartoon. Every day he has to deliver a baby...At times I don't agree with his perspective or point of view...but I have all praise for him and I am Proud of him...I love you Sudhir...Keep going on.
So, finally countdown begin's for 15th loksabha election,as for last one year people were expecting- fall of the government, and it almost happened at the time of Nuclear Deal...preparations started for next elections from then only...assembly elections in few states were the unit test, now finale exams begin...media is abuzz with imformations and details of former elections and forth coming election survey's...speculations and predictions are on as who will go with which party...pro-election alliance's and who will emerge as a winner. Which party will form government, with whom will they alliance post elections...Few parties are following Barack.H.Obama style campainging..on line as well, which is not wrong as in urban areas people do intract on line...but it is just an option as most of the India either do not have time or electricity or computer or have language problem or they are not interested in electroral system. Young people should be shaken up and motivated enough to have faith in constitution and participate in electoral process.They only can convince their family members and friends to come out and vote...vote to right person...as the leaders we will choose and elect will govern us...so blaming them for each and every wrong thing will take us no where unless we don't vote.
ReplyDeleteOne should do all the research work about the candidate they are going to vote, as party and its ideaologies and agenda or manifestoes do matter...but the person we are going to choose should be most important factor as he or she can make the difference in taking decisions in centre and devoloping his constitueinces as well...
One should try to choose a person who is dynamic enough to represent your areas problems and needs as well as can add new dimensions to whatever responsibilities he/she get..who is dutiful,not a fuedual master who behaves undemocratically.Who has vision to solve Indian problems in Indian way but understand international thinking and problems as well as he/she is going to be National leader.Who can understand the political-socio-economic nuances...by reading or with experience..but has capability of foresee problems and can suggest solutions as well can lead in delivering it as in the parliament every one's voice get heard and every one's vote counts. It should not be like..we don't know what is nuclear deal is or economic recession is...Its J and K problem, or its south or bihar- orrissa problem...one should think as Indian first.
One should vote for a candidate who has minimum charges on him/her.
For PM post as know I think--L.K.Advani is the first choice as he is less dented..he has changed with times or say modified..He was the main pillar in Vajpayeeji government...though they had differences...but they resolved it and worked together sucessfully for 6 yrs 1 month. When they were in power things were evaluting, no body believed coliation government can work as it was 'Kahin ka itt, Kahin ka Rorra, Bhanumati ne kunba joda'..specially with BJP (which were supposed to be untouchables-but now I believe, people understand that it thinking of RAM based on HUMANITY is more important for us than RAMMANDIR,and if ever it get made..it will be with consensus than with fight as Rama belived in spreading love and harmony. He'll be happier as roadside stone instead of living in Bhavya mandir made after fighting ) other parties with different idealogies joined hand and worked for country was good to see. That process continue with UPA government as path was shown to them by Atalji led Government, But here also people had disagreement,but then they prefer country over selfishness and noe after five years, we are going to elect a government which has done better work for us. As opposition leader as well he has done good job except few differences within the party demorlised him but he overcome it as he understand that to govern India from front one need to be more flexible. He several times accepted his mistakes in judgement or decisions which shows he is an honest man.
My second choice is Mr.Pranav Mukherjee, a trouble shooter in UPA and man with many posts...I find him honest, intelligent and man with experience who is capable of handling any situation,but anti incombency factor may block UPA's/his way to become PM,as well as few other factor which stopped him to be PM last time as well. Nitish Kumar is another honest man who has vision and determination to change misfortune of bihar...he has been good natnational leader as well...can be good candidate...Rahul Gandhi is good, energetic,but not yet tested...

ReplyDeleteToday attack on the Sri Lankan Team in the Lahore is really shocking and disturbing gory act...nobody in the world can appreciate that.These criminals need cannot finish off sports love by these kind of act...they just need publicity...and destroying games in pakistan by creating these kind of situation...But now Pakistan should not behave like a helpless government...where these fundamentalists can terrorise people in the name of god and nobody can stop them...they are brain washing young boys...If Pakistan is unable to control them, then they accept it so that other agencies take over charge and control them as situation is getting grimmer...India cannot sitback and just do nothing if terrorist activities increases in border areas and it start showing regular impact on Indian Life...As IPL matches are coming..Commonwealth games and World Cup Cricket matches...also we are hosting...and want to host Olympics as well...Would not want anything like Munickh Olympics happen here...Why special occasion, we don't want these kind of Terrorist activities here...as now every body know which Sangthan has hands in it...and where are they have there roots and are thrieving...I don't they have any goals except showing there importance and power by terrorising people and different governments.
ReplyDeleteI am glad today as aditi's work- 24 photo's and mini ad campaign is selected for her college annual exhibhition, its shows improvement in her work, as last year her fewer work was exhibhited. Her college festival is also scheduled for next week, though she is not participating directly in anything...for last two years she has participated and organized Fashion Show, with mix of very relevant causes and litrary touch as a theme.

Aditi is intelligent girl...creative,sensible, sensitive and aware. Its reflects in her work...She love to capture beauty of nature, life in detail-which is traditional,trendy and mordern,..which shows prosperity and progress as well as uglyness and poverty...but there is emotion,life and hope in every photo's and sketeches...I like her photo of a begger girl of hydrabad who looks so beautiful and sane..at peace, when she offered chips and cold drink by her...she was most beautiful..seeing urban and rural areas...streets and big hotels from her camera's eye...from Delhi's chandni chowk's to haridwar, Rishikesh, masoorie, Dharamsala,Pilani,jodhpur,jaisalmer,daman,goa,hampi,hydrabad...and so on..Its her begining...Computer can enhance the quality in photoshop and corel draw but cannot put emotion...you can feel this from their eyes...who reacts, rejects,rebel positively as they need to get convineced then swallow..for them left,right,straight,gay,black,white,rich,poor,all are same.There is no bar or barrier against religion, caste,tribe or region. They look equally good and comfortable in western clothes as well Indian,including saree...doesn't expose unduly as she know her physical limitation as well as social limitation..she respect tradition, elders but has head over shoulders,mature enough to not follow them blindly and respect her individuality...she like food from everywhere...but-- lacks in experience and maturity which comes with time,quite busy learning, have to learn many more thing in life...which can make her life more comfortable and beautiful...we are hopeful..
Saw Sudhirji's programme on India T.V. Its a first kind of reality show on politics.Sudirji is a one of the judge...programme is from 6.30 to 7.pm daily till elections...'voter ka meter'...but need more gravity...should be given more time to judges to speak more on topics than just giving numbers...Like watching
ReplyDeleteFor last few days there is so many blasts in Pakistan including 3 in Peshaver today...How can anybody compare Pakistan's situation with India's...India is much more safer country than Pakistan,Srilanka,Bangladesh..After mumbai blast..England cricket team came to India and were safe...Its good to be careful and cautious...from neighbourhood unrest and internal terrorists groups,underworld organized crime, Naxalism as most of groups need publicity out of it that see we are here, you cannot do anything...or may be by kidnapping can get some terrorist free..I don't see they have any concrete agenda or mission or Lakshya.

Media was discussing few days back that Politicians are worried as IPL may overshadow election in media coverage and voters as Indians are more interested in cricket, entertainment than Elections...Now politician got the chance to postpone IPL..but IPL may get setback and lose money and dates of players as they all are busy with national games as well.
ReplyDeleteI saw Nitish Kumar roaming around or going to watch film riding rickshaw...shows even CM is feeling safe in the state where crime rate is high...quite assuring and motivating...Bunty has joined Infosys-Mysore on 2nd of this month...its a new chapter in his life...came to know that in the campus all members move to class or hostel or mess by bicycle provided by office as it is more than walking distance.Good initiative to save petrol and environment..and its cheap and safe as well...Aditi went for college educational trip last month and previous 2 years as well and they travelled in a small group as well as in bigger group by train,bus,car-jeep,rickshaw,scooty or bicycle...she found gujrat very safe...It shows our country is not that unsafe for boys or girls in any time-day or night-though they avoided travelling in the night generally...I found Nepal also quite similar to India...

Do they are not considered 'intellectual enough to be invited as listeners, forget as a speaker...may be they are not that BIG STARs or may be they are artist cum journalist...in panel disscussions as well I hardly see cartoonists of leading Newspapers disscussing or giving expert comments on Political scenerio...I have met quite a few of them in Nepal(south asian)..and otherwise as well,did research on their profile for TV programme...even Sudhirji's profile done by many channels and magazine in so many...he has done reporting, interviews as well,he has anchored and produced programmes successfully,which has been awarded bt DD...but the fact remain the same...they all speak well...they do understand the pulse of aam people...they are admired and followed by readers...then why not considered as an artist by LALIT KALA ACADEMY as Art College's do teach Cartooning as a Topic but not as a subject...even in mass com college they teach cartooning as a topic but not as a subject...where as in europian, american and other western countries treat them as intellectuals and there they are millionaires as well...

ReplyDeleteI think CARTOONIST's are very serios people, a thinker, who are loner's at the time of work(8hours)-all the artist's are-even my daughter is like this. They are sechluded -as well very observent as they need to observe and understand life and features of people to potray them.so usually they mingeled and jel easily with others.
ReplyDeleteI find cartoonists a good journalist as well...though this combination is rare, that's why there are very few good Cartoonists.Its a 'offbeat'profession...people at times think they are cynical or humours(jokers) or negative person who kills you with his satire...but the fact is, in the normal life they are as normal as any body...
Its sad BJD and BJP are no longer together...Their such a long friendship gone through rough patch is sad...but the reality is everything is fair in love and war and elections...

TERROR may be a global issue but we need to fight terror at national level and protect our country...so, question of this hour is which government has vision and effective solution to fight against terrorism?
Economic meltdown is also a global issue, but its side effects or fallout are national issue...such as LAY OFFs,JOBCUTs,CUT IN WAGES...etc...is it result of their poor management..or UPA is fighting it well?
Who is the best person to Lead our Nation- Do we have another Nehru, Indira, Atal Bihari Vajpayee...on who's name people can vote and party can win? Do we have faith in one man vision and capability to lead India...for betterment?
Does Advaniji, Manmohan Singhji, Mayawatiji or Rahul Gandhi fulfill this Criteria--and has that leadership quality?
Which party has support of strong and good regional allies as they become a reality in today's politics...BJP-lost support of allies like TDP,TMC,BJD AND NC(bad news-as these parties are growing, they want more independence or changing sides with their SUVIDHA))...or should National Parties like BJP and Congress should take risk to 'EKLA CHALO RE'..??
Its SAD but fact that to win election-- parties need to fulfill CASTE, COMMUNAL,and (hopefully)WOMEN's interests best as these are the factors which also counts. Our society has structured like this that we have assimilation of all this and for years now(60),Politicians should wipe the division of lower-upper caste,different religions as our Constitution do not differentiate between them,and gave solution for their upliftment to be equals...and please do not consider Hindus as communal just becoz they are in majority...as even they are 'Garib and Pidit'...facing all kind of problems...so,parameter should be to wipe out 'class divide' and one should try to dissolve other social ugliness..attach to caste,class ,religion,gender and do their makeovers... these problems should be 'diverted' to social sector to take initiative with the help of masses and other machineries...Govt. or Private, National...International...

Sudhirji is observing and commenting on Politics officially since '1982...in fact in his sangat, even I started commenting and predicting at times on politics...

ReplyDeleteI do agree with it partially, and I can say that not only on the basis of as a layman, but as a critic as I use to write a Coloumn for Rashtriya Sahara Hindi NewsPaper on Film,Tv,Media,when Udyanji was their editor...and have seen many movies...movies or mass media can influence viewers,positively and negatively.
Films with good storyline or great acting...great music and a blockbuster had their influence on young and tender minds, its has examples when kids tried to imitate mougli or superman and end up breaking legs or killing themself. In fact after 'Ek duje ke liye'success there were sudden increase in the number of young pairs committing suicide....They do imitate hairstyles, dressing style or fashion,talking style, spoken language.. you can see a north indian boy speaking mumbaiya hindi or mahmood type south indian...if mass media is 'Aaina' of society than society also learn from their demy gods or goddess, whether its'Mother India','Mughle-Aazam' 'Don' or 'Lovestory','Sholey','Phir bhi dil hai hindustani'...'Lagan','Munnabhai...',
It applies on the News, TV serials and advertisement,video games on the internet as well...as what you watch it influence you more conciously or subconciously, and if it is repeatedly shown(as in different places or cities, people watch it on different time),it makes the difference, in a good or a bad way..(as its our psychology that kids or young one learn bad thing quickly, it attracts them more, wether its abusive language or guns as a toys)...that's how one become recognisible and famous a bit easily either....
Showing Mythological stories or Historical stories,Pralay.. Ghost and Aatma--Sachi kathayein--Horror stories, with special effects...which does not exists, or is Hypothetical...with own interpetation is sad...as its no. is not few but in abundence...people do watch it as its TRP is high...its not good, as viewer do believe them, they don't watch them for sheer entertainment or timepass...that's wrong...otherwise these things always existed and its everywhere in the world....so its viewers need to be educated...and to some extent producers as well.

ReplyDeleteUPA's period was good or bad, that can be judged by their achievements, governess and future policy...whether they carry on NDA's policy, which is not wrong ethically as one govern for country's betterment and things do evolved...or its there own policies...where are we heading towards in this period --minus allies--where congress stands...as in 2004 they won by small margin...Do voters take this risk to give them chance to form a majority government....Are they fit for it and can do justice with given responsibilities?

After 13days BJP+Akali Dal came to satta for 13months with the help of 24parties of different ideaologies and menifestoes and agenda...lost vote of confidence by 'single' vote, thanks to mayavatiji who abstained after saying Yes...in 1999 election their agenda and slogan was 3 B's...but in 2004 it changed to 'India Shining'.
I saw latest Interview of Advaniji in English Outlook...admitting why they lost 2004 election and how India Shining slogan went against them...he blamed over confidence of their Karyakartas which converted in negligence and inactivity...
ReplyDeleteIn defence of Mordern Laohpurush I can only say that Advaniji was the main pillar behind Atalji Face and mind..he had tough time as a Home minister and Dy PM handling terrorism as till 11/9/2001 it was evolving and USA did not recognise it as a international issue...and afterwards they were busy combating it in own country and finally attacking Iraq...

Kandhar case was one where Advaniji and others got severly criticized...but I remember those hours of pain and fear, panic and hysteria...pressure on them as relatives of hijacked people were crying...shouting, getting hysterical...Even media covering them got carried away...so situation and atmosphere in country in totality was grim and against...so took decision what they thought right...we felt relived but sad...Azhar Masood could have been hanged...
Even extremism(involvement of Huji), when we were thinking in southasian countries border should be dissolved...Underworld activities(getting into terrorism-specially D group-who was hiding in Pakistan), Naxalism was spreading with no cause...
Farmers started committing suicide and disinvestment was getting criticised...

Ram Mandir issue was also was in it peak-in 2001, upsurge of Sadhu Mahatma's andolan...could have been happen peaceful and successful...if burning train incident in Gujrat was averted...what happened after that was ghastly-Hriday vidarak....I wish I could have stopped it in some way...but things are evolving and mindset is chaning...I am sure a day will come then belivers of SARV DHARM SAMBHAV...belivers of peace,love and harmony and Gandhi's RamRajya...themselve come out and will say--let us make RamMandir in Ayodhya...We all believe Ram(our Adarshpurush)was born here, we do not want proof...It will happen with consensus...and that day will come...but not by fighting...God do not need us, we need them...

ReplyDeleteWhat Advaniji said is correct but, it was them who created confusion in voters...Atalji's health was voters concern...nobody assured them that if he is head, we are hand and leg...Advaniji was very low profile and others were very aggeressive...inner dispute was open, so as stupid use of gimmicks in election to win voters--Filmstars were registered(good change)karyakarta's but most of the time they were delivering filmi dialogues...Jadugaars...and other star attracters(who are not Politicians and doing part time job) send this message in junta that our Politicians do not have capability or oratary power to gather people by own charishma...vision...or credibility...

Comparing the situation when Kandhar hijack was happened with Mumbai attack...this time people were angry but calm and calmpose, at the time of operation...they were not getting hysterical for there relatives, instead they were with country...and officials...media...which shows either we are getting use to of this kind of situations or getting mature...

Jharkhand.. a very poor state...Jharkhand got mines and industries at the time of sepration from Bihar...put its progress...is not visible...

ReplyDeleteAfter babuji's retirement my in -laws started living with us..so frequency of going to Rajasthan lessen up...last year we went to Bikaner after chachaji's death...we went to Jaipur in marriages...twice in last few years...Sudhirji do went to Jaipur more frequently...Last month Aditi went to many cities of Rajasthan for college study tour...
We went to Bihar together in 1995..when my father got retired and Alok was getting married(Now they live in Faridabad or Chaandigarh..with my brothers...Bhaiya usually get transfered to different corner of India including North East) ...after that once Sudhirji went to Patna in official visit...met Laluji and Rabriji...once I went alone to meet Parents in Bhagalpur...then with my mother I visited Begusarai...and my sister munni in Madhubani, went to Janakpur...She is now in Patna.
I have read about the ground realities of Rajasthan or Bihar in Book(Sankarshan Thakur's-making of Lallu Yadav)...magazines or in the News...or by talking to the people who live their...

Aditi's fashion statement is Khadi and cotton...for last many years...though see bought 2 silk kurta's from Dharmashala last year...in fact its a local dress..
Besides family sanskar...she do had influence of Sahmat group...muslim centric communist group...she was with JANM and their daughter Saara is her SP school friend...Now she is not with them...as college needs more attention...
She do have Christian school time Friends...or Chinese Friend Linda with whom she worked for college festival...designed clothes in house...in 1st year their theme was GOLIATH, a bible character...in 2nd yr it was PYCADALICS...they represented college at IIT festival...BITs Pilani...and at NID Ahmadabad festival in last few yrs...
I am sad I couldn't attend her college festival as we got late due to Sudhirji's vyastata...I should have gone there alone as her Ad Campaign, photo's and other works was exhibhited so as others...would have nice oppertunity to see sculpture..paintings...ad campaingns and photo's...I have met few of her girls...and boys college friend and I don't think...they are 'bigada' hua...in fact they are more serious as well creative...
Ambience of Delhi College of Art is very good though they do get irritated by their admnistration's sarkari unprofessional slow attitude...or lecturers inner politics..which do not provide them basic important facilities...or influence their studies or performance...

ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of my college days when my roommate with her another friend, went to see Cricket match..Her Mama knew Sandeep Patil, so with that reference both got the Pass..met Sandeep Patil and Ravi Shastri, who asked them to meet them after game in his Hotel room as it was SP's B'Day-17 Aug...when they went there after that day's match, all the Crickters were there celebrating SP's b'day.
My Roommates friend told them that it is my friends my as well...so she was invited to cut the cake with Sandip..everybodies photos got clicked...she shook hands with them...talked to them and came back...So..after that it was we who were Pidit people listening these stories repeatedly for 15 days...without getting drunk...she was Hi...she refuses to wash her hand as she shook hand with them...we made jokes about her...were making fun of her..she never bothered about it...she was in some other world...Thank god, that time Blogging was not invented...varna hamara kya hota...

ReplyDeleteAditi and Sudhirji went to see Pooja Nayyer's show this evening...it reminds me of my khadi talk...actually few days back I saw an interview of a girl...who is doing character of 'Ichcha' in 'Utran' serial...potraying maid servants daughter role...she was saying..I always wear cotton clothes in serial as I am poor...this is what I saw in many more serials...I don't watch serials regularly, as regressive serials do tell you few reallities of society, potray..certain issues nicely, as 'Balika Vadhu' is potraying...but it gives tension...you cannot feel relaxed after watching it ...it makes you think about certain basic problems in our society...which hurts...and should get elminated or eradicated from the roots...

Cotton or Khadi is comfortable to wear as its good for skin...it absorbs Pasina, its eco friendly...its peoples choice and Fashion Statement or style for few...though tough to maintain...and not always cheap...so one should not make this opinion or statement that only poor wear Khadi or cotton...though it doesn't matter...we do have poor in our country and Gandhiji started wearing it as poor men attire- 'Jab tak sab ke tan thakne ko kapde na honge mein ise vastra dharan karoonga'...it shows we understand their Pida...but we have progressed.
What you wear and how you wear is also a contemporary International values...or Indian values...

When I was in school, we used to do 'surya-namaskar'as a PT curriculam in Kendriya Vidyalaya, no one ever said its communal(we had students of all religions)...and I don't think I am communal, but few years back it become 'communal'in MP.Why???
When Aditi was in Apeejay school till 10th std...they used to chant 'gayatri mantra'...everyone studied sanskrit in school, they had 'yagya kund'...they celebrated every other 'thuohar' together in school which means thousands of them...I can speak about her, she is not communal...
She has been to many church, mandir, golden temple, jama masjid...in Sardar Patel School (11th-12th), Which is a Gujrati school...She always won certificates for Rangoli making...or every year she participated in Navratri 'Garba' with others in school...in Gujrati Traditional dress and with dandiya...she still go there annually,in Navratri...as invited by school(invitation for all passouts)...does that make her communal or regressive???
Once a Sudhirji's German Friend talking to her few yrs back, asked her about Akshardham Temple...She replied, its beautiful but one should do some meaningful use of land...which means, it should include real charitable work...He said, even in his country youth are less attached to Church, one should add some new dimensions to involve youth with them???Does that make her communal or Non-Believer???
As a student of Political science, Socialogy, History, English and Psychology in 11-12th(I don't Know how much she remember her course now)... they have done many case studies...group discussions...with themslve, teachers, Guest experts, prepared own Agenda and Menifesto's for school elections, as electing class rep in quite democratic process, was interesting...was member of Neighbourhood project in school activities...did social work...does that make her politically aware or a politician???
I am not saying I or Sudhirji has nor done these things...but these first time voters are smarter...we expect that they should not disrespect religion...but respect...what is socially wrong...be balanced, and unbiased...and discard wrong candidates not parties (as all of them are more or less same), who donot believe in our Constitution...who treates every citizens equally...We need leaders who make members of every caste and religions feel safe and secure and not do vote bank politics...
I think when Varun Gandhi saw that every parties in UP are wooing different castes(read social engeenering)and Muslim voter bank is divided in different parties...he played hindu card to polarised them in his side...this is called Sam, Dam, Dand,Bhed....one cannot change society by speaking in language which is vicious...and full of hatred...he may win votes but it will defeat his purpose of doing something constructive to Society...every young one should think before act....with some positive talk with same voters....he could have won more heart...and got publicity as well...it applies to other also...
There is never ending examples- why some topics in our course become communal, or leftists or secular...its perception of few people who are sitting and deciding, but at the time of election its junta who should decide???

I was discussing (it happened)soft issues with them, that really matter in life...so nothing is non-serious if discussed sincerely...I am not saying all of them lost Focus or have too many girls or boys in life...these things are personal...being popular or discussing gossips,(fake...baseless or real..or just to get importance as an ordinary person or a big star...mujh per itne marte hain..)...not make them fool...but at times wrong impressions can also create problems....media should also cross check before highlighting them as some gossips are created purposefully???
ReplyDeleteYesterday our 70 yrs old uncle aunties came for dinner and said we are not old--abhi to hum jawan hain...they(uncles were college mates) told us few gossips about their crush on one of beautiful classmate...they have written poems on her and still watch Aishwarya's films becoz she resembles her...aunties were sitting and laughing....If my any young family member talk about many boy or other girl and their (close friends)that does not everything is bad and ugly between them....but one need elders guidence to beware!!!
Different people have different opinions...one of my relative was against ads on sex education...isse bachche log qua sikhenge?? But if some problem exists from Kunti's time...bachche log need to be educated in right time so that they don't do wrong...galat fayda to koyi utha sakta hai,these are sensitive issues..that does not mean you stop teaching...Yes, ad shouldn't be vulgar...it should be sensible and catchy...so that it gives right message...
I saw 'Jane tu, Ya jane na'(recently on TV)...Nice friendly parents also adviceses their kids about their close friendships(which is not romantic)...with other school or college friends, can create problems in the future...as jealousy or Shaak(may be momentry) are very common bemari...
Once I told my daughter that what(some english serial)...you are watching is not our Sanskriti, as a film made on same subject...with Indian outlook and western outlook is different as directors think according to their society and market...

Talking about Indian Traditions,Heritage,religion or sanskriti is not regressive...regressive is being regid about wrong traditions like...against Bal vidhva vivah,girl litreacy....love marriage... supporter of child marriages...and so on...
ReplyDeleteMasala Films like 'Julie' or 'Kya Kahana'...are educative, Ads of contraceptives or on Aids...need to be shown sensibly...ads of Kamsutra or Aam sutra...people find them objectionable....Personally...I have module on Adolecent childs problem...I attended a workshop on this topic...and occassionally try to talked to Aditi and her girls and boys...classmates...I don't know how much I am successful in conveying my message positively...(I see I have missed few words in the matter written earlier...witch make the sound ulta)

'Apun ka Sapna' a Play improvised by Aditi and Friends in summer vacation workshop of Sanskar Rang toli(NSD)(her chacha's area-she attended Sunday club Part-I&II also)when she was in 8th std. It was in to part...in first half..shararti kids are given all important responsibility...that make them realised importance of discipline and rules and regulations of the school...
In the IInd half...They have to talk about their ambitions and what they want to be...A Fairy was helping them realised their dream come true...It was symbolic...Its once concience...that help's and guide...They Performed it in Kamayani Auditorium...
Their was one more play,I remember was they performed in Apeejay School was 'Aaj ka Abhimanyu'...Where a mythological Abhimanyu helping a boy 'Manav'...to realised his dreams...as he was stressed due to 'bojh' of heavy course...her own ambition to do well in all subjects...and activites...to get name, fame, money...subkuch but on the way of his sucess he lost his near one Kahin Pichae-His friends and families...and he was told by Abhimanyu.. to break last barrier(which he couldn't) and take other members along with you...and live balanced life-not isolated...This is what I meant by 'Complete man/woman'...not litrelly but yes.
Every voters have promises to keep right now by making democracy sucessful by using voting rights and vote for less dented candidate.
Saw a glimpse of a programme in DD-1, young citizens were discussing about themself....and saying what I mentioned about play...'Apun Ka Sapna' or 'Aaj Ka Abhimanyu'...their ambitions,their idealism,their confusions and their problems...Aachcha laga...main shayad sahi disha mein sochti hoon.
ReplyDeleteI hope by watching life of a young girl from her eyes and her and my mind, I am not creating any wrong impression about my daughter...As I know one thing ...Trying to be dada doesn't make her dada as she is a shy,simple girl...who does not get influenced by others easily...for example, her cotton khadi prem...she bought khadi silk from dharamshala...but she went to many (celebrities)marriages, wearing my cotton saree(though its beautiful)...or(once)for Her bua's family function(some Sagai)wearing Khadi suit...In fact her bua told her that every one is wearing heavy clothes, so why not she?... But she is like this...
Though even I prefer wearing Pestal colours which many says--looks Artistic...One of my favourite is khadi silk Madhubani Print saree, every one in my family likes it...
ReplyDeleteI am not dragging Aditi into my blog, neither she is interested in 'mai bhi-mai bhi'...though subconciously...she do follows what we say, do or expect from her...but I am defending her as many times...I heard someone saying aditi you are letting your mother down...I know her cousin brothers, sisters and friends got better percentage in studies....but now these things does not matter...My best wishes are she should do well in whatever she does...with more self discipline, confidence and focus...be successful in career and her personal life.So that she can help others also...God make her all wishes come true...

For last two nights I was praying.., as my nightmare was 'riots' should not happen at Pilibhit or got spread in any where else.....I am glad it didnot happen. Yesterday Sudhirji's book launch was a big hit...in every aspects...good crowd, great media presence...good and witty speeches by Shri Amar Singhji,Shri Shatrughan Sinhaji, and Sudhirji. I am proud of this fact that everyone I have met has praise for him, his nature and his impartial work...I remember when someone in Nepal praised him, saying 'I am sure a day will come when people will say...he was born in India...well,that time will say...but I do believe he is a very good human being, a controlled person and constantly trying to overcome worldly emotions(eg;ego and jealously..) which occasionally make a person Ravan from Ram.

Its sad Shri Manmohan singhji refused to release his book as told to us that he will feel awkward and embarassed to see his own cartoons...PM sir 'Nindak Neyare Rakhiye'...Even Akbar had Birbal in his team of Navratna'.He should have sense of humour...to face the reality or a persons point of view.
